what is the meaning of the following sentence-
"The red queen is locked onto us."
what is the "part of speech" of the underlined part and it's role here?

'locked onto' is an expression used to indicate attaching or fixing something onto someone or something.
Example: The seat is not designed to be LOCKED ONTO a trailer hitch.

However, it may also indicate that something has found a target and is heading for it or sending something to head for it, usually in order to destroy it.
Example: The missile LOCKED ONTO the plane and blew it out of the sky.
In your example, your mention of the 'Red Queen' indicates that it is more likely to be this second definition that is required.
