Hello teachers, This is an essay I had in a test last week. Could you please correct it? Thank you very much! W.F.G
Studying aboard has an appealing topic. Many learners are trying to find out different reasons. My writing aims at the main ones.
First and fore most, what I put in my priority is increasing knowledge. It cannot be denied that Studying abroad gives us a chance to get higher education. There are various school and universities with good strategies of teaching and learning. Of course, we are likely to be taught by such professional teachers. Not only do they teach us basic knowledge but they also give us wise advices and their own experiences. We stand a golden chance to gain a lot from them. More remarkably, studying abroad help us to learn another countries’ culture. Museums may tell much about art and history of the country where we are studying abroad. We understand its traditional clearly thanks to the traditional festivals. Bookstores and libraries are bound to give us more information about the best views of the country. In the short time, we have deep understanding about another countries’ culture. By and large, studying abroad widens our knowledge.
Second of all, being bilingual holds no less importance. The fact is that studying abroad creates a chance for us to speak foreign language fluently. When we are in another country, we have to speak its popular language such as English, French or Spanish, etc. Talking with native speakers is one of the best ways to practice speaking skill. We have tendency to speak foreign language fluently. More interestingly, studying abroad improves our writing, reading and learning skills as well. For example, my cousin used to go abroad in Australia. She had improved her English a lot there. All books were written in English. Her teachers spoke English, too. Of course, she had to do her homework in English. We surely see how studying abroad helps her have good writing, reading and listening skills. Without any doubt, we are certain to be bilingual if we study abroad.
Last but not least, career preparation ranks an equal place in the essence. It is clearly seen that studying abroad makes us more independent and confident. Apparently, we have to live without our parents in a foreign country. Learning how to live far from family is such an important thing. Of course, we have to study in the new school and meet our new classmates who don’t have the same nationality with us. It may be difficult to make friends at first but then we tend to have some best friends. All we need is confidence. More importantly, we stand a golden chance to know more about foreigners. People from different countries have their own different way of working and thinking. When we study abroad, we are sure to have a part-time job to get some pocket money. We are bound to have a lot of experience from our foreign boss. In deed, studying abroad is one way to prepare our career.
All in all, not only increasing knowledge, being bilingual but also career preparation are the main reasons for studying abroad. I highly recommend that learners should take my writing into detailed consideration to make a feasible decision on studying abroad.
