Should the charity organizations contribute to their own country or others? #1 (permalink) Thu Sep 08, 2011 7:39 am   Should the charity organizations contribute to their own country or others?

Topic: Some people believe that the charity organisations should give aid to those in greatest need, wherever they live. Some people believe that the charity organisations would better concentrate on helping people who live in own country instead. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Should the charity organizations contribute to their own country or those in greatest need out of own country?

Charity organizations always play an active role in helping people who live in the poor areas or countries which need the greatest help. However, the way of charity groups distribute their money has caused heated debate among people holding the view that charity group should give their money away to people in own country instead other places.

The original purpose of a charity group is to help people regardless of their origin, race, color…that means everyone is equal to get the aid. In developed countries, such as the United Stated, one of the countries having the largest numbers of wealthy people, there are more charity groups in their country. Sometimes the demand in their countries less than the supply, so if the charity organizations there could share their charities with others out of their nation, it would definitely balance the distribution of wealth in the world. Consequently, disadvantage people in the less development countries would enjoy a better life then we will have a more harmonic world.

Turn to the other opinion, should the charity groups pay more attention to people in own country? That may be a way some charities are focusing on now. Charity organizations obtain most of charities from their own country, they should definitely use these charities to help people in own country, which is the same principle that the government absorb tariff from taxpayers and using the taxes to construct the country. Therefore, it might be the reason why some individuals would suspect the way of distributing charities to other countries.

Whatever which way is more perfect or humanistic, I would say that people should not criticize charity groups’ practice superficially. In my opinion, one fact thing is that the charities commit to do the non-benefit enterprises in their own country, while they should also apply their practice to other areas being stunk in a devastated situation.
