What kind of influences can media affect
I don't know why indents does not show up on preview, so I just numbered each paragrahp. 1)Nowadays, mass medias, such as tv,internet and movies have became
essential sources of contemporary people of modern society. It is even safe to claim
that over 50% of one's behaviour is influenced by these easily acessible mass
medias. Thus, sorting out positive and negative influences and understanding
consequences from interacting with mass media is necessary for all ages. 2)To live in this daily competing life, people are devoted to obtain
iunformations and such informations can easily be acquired from medias, such as
newspaper, internet and tv newses. Obtained informations provide people,
adjustments for their proceeds to next behaviours. Likewise, people can prepare for
any upcoming unprecedented events in one's life by collecting informaitons from
watching particular tv program or searching desired subject through internet. For an
example, if one wants to save his/her time by finding short route to a particular area
before departure, the one can find the regarding information by searching through
Google map, which consumes about 5minutes. Briefly described as using 5 minutes
to save several hours by the power of media.
3) Contrary to positive influences of mass media, which stated above, medias
can also affect people' behaviours in negative ways. Not only mature, grown-ups
make numerous contacts with the medias, younger ones, ages between 5 ~ 19, can
also easily be interacted with it anytime. Unlike fully matured adult, youngsters'
fledgling brains are incapable of adapting newly obtained informations in a way it
should be accepted. If a younger one, age under 10, watchs violent or sexual films
without preserving proper educations regarding these matters, it can cause serious
problems to their perspectives and result in breeding out traumas or mental problems,
which will be prolonged to remain within their mind for a life time.
4)Furthurmore, unstable and half grown brains of youngsters accept things
the way they actually see. In other words, they tend to imitate what they see from
older people without perceiving sense of right or wrong, consequences of what they
are imitating and the influence, which will even lead them to fall into the bottomless
pit. It is parents' crucial responsibility to guide away these innocent youngsters from
harmful sources of media, which already dispersed all over the world in reachable
distance for children.
5) To sum up all, mass media can be described as a double edged knife,
bearing fruits of sweet and poisoned at the same time. Tough the media contains
tremendous informations and resources of our needs, if one abuses its power, the
perilous outcome will eventually head back to us in various ways. It is firmly belived
that as senior living members of the world, we must prevent these outcomes at all
cost and also be decent models as fine adults.
