Many important changes that help the lives of people become better began happening during the twentieth century. Personally, one of the most important changes is medical advances in that period of time. The growth of vaccines and antibiotics, increased access to health care, and developed surgical techniques are all things that are improved, and saved, the lives of people in the world.

The medical scientists invented many kinds of vaccines and antibiotics that that have saved people's lives. Many years ago, preventing poliomyelitis from children was very difficult. Now due to the polio vaccines, people do not need to worry about that kind of disease. In the past. even simple infections can lead to the death. Now penicillin and other antibiotics can cure infections easily.

The improvement of access to health care is quite convenient for people to visit when they come down with a terrible case of the flu. In the past, many people must travel a long distance to go to hospitals or clinics. Now hospitals, clinics, and health centers are everywhere. They can move to the hospital easily prior to get a heavy illness. A doctor or a nurse will treat them more efficiently. They are ill less and it has an effect on the quality of life.

Thanks to improved surgical techniques,treating many kinds of disease is not a problem that we need to considerate. The doctor can apply microscopic and laser surgery techniques to treat their patients efficiently. Also, those techniques make the surgery patients to recover more quickly now than they could in the past.

The improvement of the medical science is very important on Earth. It brings us a good health. Everybody becomes more healthy and this can lead to a better quality of life. This is also the reason why advances in medical science are improvements that people should not forget
