Present Simple/Continuous ... When/While #1 (permalink) Wed Apr 26, 2006 18:33 pm   Present Simple/Continuous ... When/While

Hi, It?s me again!. Correct me, please. Thanks in advance!

"...And the stars always shine when
I come back home at night"

1.- Would you use "are always shining instead of
always shine?
2.- While instead of when?
3.- Is it right to begin a sentence that way, I mean
with "...+conjunction And"
4.- I don?t know if "at night" is well-placed. Should
it be "I come back at night home"?. It sounds me
better, but maybe I am wrong. Or maybe "when
at night I come back home".

5.- And finally, if you think there are more mistakes,
tell me. Cheers!!

Hi Jesus,

You have asked several questions as follows and I have made comments in capital letters:

"...And the stars always shine when
I come back home at night"

1.- Would you use "are always shining instead of
always shine? IF YOU USE THE CONTINUOUS YOU SIMPLY EMPHASISE THE SHINING

2.- While instead of when? I WOULD USE WHEN HERE -YOU COULD SAY WHILE I AM WALKING BACK HOME

3.- Is it right to begin a sentence that way, I mean
with "...+ conjunction And" THAT'S ALL RIGHT

4.- I don?t know if "at night" is well-placed. Should
it be "I come back at night home"?. It sounds me
better, but maybe I am wrong. Or maybe "when
at night I come back home". KEEP COME BACK WITH HOME AND THEN AT NIGHT.
