Everything happens for a reason. When people learn that a person gets success and become a famous star, they would say that it is luck that contributes to their achievement. But in my opinions, it is their hard working not the luck.

Firstly, luck means that you can get something you want without paying any effort. However, if you pay close attention to the people who have succeeded, you will find most of them experience many unlucky things before they reached the goals. For instance, before Edison found the appropriate material to make a light bulb, he had tired thousands of them, which means that he failed for thousands time. If you say that his success is contributed to luck, few people in the word are poor man. The success of Columbus is another example, before he set out to find the new continent, he had spent many years to make preparations. Moreover, the trip cost all of his capitals.

Secondly, everyone may have his lucky days and lucky numbers, but not everyone can succeed. We need work hard to make preparations and wait the chance of being successful. If we just depend on luck to reach our goals, what we can get is seeing the chances disappeared in front of our eyes. For instance, when I was in high school, some my classmates spent 3 years studying hard to pass an important exam which can let you admitted by universities. But others did not work so hard. 3 years later, when the chance appeared, most of the hard-working students caught the chance and were admitted by many good schools. However, others student missed it.

In sum, luck may have a little relationship with the success. But before we reach our goals, we must be working hard.
