Usage of the verbs: My daughter has been trying to find... #1 (permalink) Thu Apr 27, 2006 10:04 am   Usage of the verbs: My daughter has been trying to find...

Please look at my writing. I am not sure of my usage of the verbs.
" My daughter has been trying to find a job for months. She left university in June, and since then she has had one or two part-time jobs. She has been working in a cafe for the last two weeks.
She wants to work in publishing. She wrote hundreds of letters of application, and she had a few interviews, but no jobs offers yet.
Thanks.

.
It all looks fine, mlngvt. I would add an overt verb to the last clause-- but has had no job offers yet-- because yet usually elicits present perfect. (Job is singular there, too.)
