Wow! What an intense (and... choking?) love! :) Maybe you've translated 'chest' from the Spanish 'pecho'? I would say 'she's in my heart' or 'in my soul/blood/mind/dreams'. Both 'You are on my chest' and 'You are in my throat' sound too literal to me (and the second one seems hardly feasible!)!! Now, if you hated her, I think you could say 'she sticks in my throat/gullet' meaning 'she's very annoying'.
2. "I did it this time" is fine. Or: 'This time I did it'.
3. Yes. When you are calling someone, like in your example, you usually say their name first to get their attention.

Hi, Conchita. How is it going?. First of all I would like to thank your help. And, well, tell me what I have to do to join as a member here ?cause I don?t really know. I?ve been taking a look but I don?t really know which section... I must choose.
Thanks again!
Have a wonderful day tomorrow!

Hi Jes?s,
As far as I can see, you have already become a member! Welcome to the group! Take a look at the FAQ link for any doubt you may have. If you care to tell us something about yourself, you can click on the Profile link and/or go to 'New ESL Forum Member?' and introduce yourself. If you prefer not to reveal anything about yourself, it's perfectly all right, of course (but I, for one, would be a bit disappointed :) ).
Ta ta for now! |

2.- THIS TIME. "I did it this time". Is it fine "this time" here to mean "I didn?t do it last time but however this one yes"?
3.- And last... "Peter, walk away" "Peter, Why don?t you come here?
Can I use a name in the beginning?
Numbers 2 and 3 are correct. In number 2, it's easier to say this rather than to say the second sentence. In number 3, we can also say the name first. Like what Miss Conchita said, we do this to call the attention of the person. |
