TO/AND... WHERE #1 (permalink) Fri Apr 28, 2006 16:23 pm   TO/AND... WHERE

Hello! Good afternoon to everyone! I hope you?re having some fun here!. My first question: 1.- "Can I use "to" in this sentence? I?m afraind there?s a difference between "and" and "to", but i don?t know if "to" is correct"

I will go TO see it.
I will go AND see it.

The second one:

2.- "A noise at night makes me think there is a phantom in this kind of castle where I live". Is it right this sentence? I hesitate about the end of it. I don?t know if "Where" is well-used here. Maybe there are more mistakes. If so, correct me, please!

The third one: 3.- Are you going out tonight?. If so, have
a magical and unforgettable night!.

See you!

Thanks!

Hi Jes?s

I'll try to answer your questions:

1. 'go + see':
I will go TO see it.
I will go AND see it.

Both of these sentences are OK. There's a third possibility that you can hear from native speakers (in the U.S. anyway) and that is:

I will go see it. (the word 'and' is simply left out.)

This happens frequently with the verb 'go': go get something, go do something, go see something, etc....

2. 'where' is OK
Maybe you could also say:
"A noise at night makes me think there is a ghost in this castle-like building where I live".

3. Thank you very much. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
