Enjoy, trap, "in/inside" Fri Apr 28, 2006 19:18 pm  Enjoy, trap, "in/inside"

Hi!. It?s me again!. Enjoy it!

Imagine a building. The sentence is: "He ENJOYS the victims TRAPPED "IN/INSIDE". He could be, for instance, a thief.

1.- "enjoying". Can I use this verb in a metaphorical sense? I mean "He is glad, very happy... He laughs at them... ?cause he has trapped several victims".
2.- What about the verb trap? Is it fine or you would use another one?

2.- "in/inside" Which one would you use? Are both
correct?

Thanks in advance!

1.- "enjoying". Can I use this verb in a metaphorical sense? I mean "He is glad, very happy... He laughs at them... ?cause he has trapped several victims"-- I don't think it is enough; it is the whole situation that he is enjoying, not just the victims themselves:

He enjoys having trapped the victims inside.

2.- What about the verb trap? -- Fine

2.- "in/inside" Which one would you use? Are both
correct? Only inside. In cannot work without an object (in the building).

Thanks a million!

And what about this?

1.-"All his life he?s been ENJOYING HAVING TRAPPED
his victims inside"

And this?

2.- "All his life he?s been ENJOYING TRAPPING his
victims inside"

Correct me, please!

Cheers!
