Hi Hassan, As far as I am concerned, learning proverbs is just a garnish to make it more interesting when studying English. I won't put too much effort on that because I'm not a student anymore. I study English in hope that I will be able to communicate with people in English more fluently and accurately. But I think studying proverbs is important for students who are going to take exams. Using proverbs properly in an essay can make your argument more convincing.

Yes, indubitably it's true. Proverbs are ready phrases that you can use in conversation, safe in the knowledge that they are absolutely correct grammatically and understood by many.
Also, you'd do well to learn common speech patterns (idioms, set phrases, etc.), in addition to proverbs, that you find personally appealing. Knowing them will help you keep a conversaion going, and avoid awkward silences, when you have to scramble for words.
PS: also, it's uncommon to say "true or wrong". Better use these: "right or wrong" or "true or false". _________________ If it's not easy, don't do it!
That's how I got where I am. |
