The towers of the Bridge are very impressive(adj).
She was expecting(present participle).
She was expecting(adj) (a baby).
I was surprising(present participle).
I was surprised(adj).
His ideas are interesting(adj).
It was a boring(adj) film.
I was boring(present participle).
I was bored(adj).
Note: 'adj' means adjective
If you find my observations marked within brackets wrong, please correct them.

The towers of the Bridge are very impressive(adj).
She was expecting(present participle). <-- In what sense would you use this?
She was expecting(adj) (a baby).
I was surprising(present participle). <-- The only meaning for this is that you did something which people didn't expect.
I was surprised(adj).
His ideas are interesting(adj).
It was a boring(adj) film.
I was boring(present participle).
I was bored(adj).

1. We were very impressed by the standard of work.
In the sentence #1, is 'impressed' used as an adjective or not?
2. It is not surprising to me.
In the sentence #2, is 'isurprising' used as an adjective or not?
