Could someone explain why in the first line of the song is used 'is' instead of 'are'?

If There’s Lessons To Be Learned,

Songs often don't follow correct rules of grammar.
Grammar is pushed aside for rhythm/rhyme/poetry.

It's not the only incorrect grammar in that quotation.
