Which sounds better?

I show you two sentences. Are these correct? If so, is there any difference between them?

1) There's a rocky hill, on the top of which stands an old castle.
2) There's a rocky hill, on the top of which an old castle stands.

They are both fine and synonymous, but I would delete the commas.
