1. She's a great friend; we are like sisters.
2. My brother is like my father.
What is the meaning of 'like' in each sentence?
In these sentences is 'like' used as preposition or not?

I thought "My brother is like my father." means
"My brother is resembling my father.".
Is it wrong?
