Which are correct:

1-The reparations took three hours, not the four we had thought would be the case.
2-The reparations took three hours, not four as we had thought would be the case.

3-There were seven players, not the six I had imagined would be the case.
4-There were seven players, not six, as I had imagined would be the case.

Do you mean 'preparations'?

They're all okay but 2 and 4 are most natural.
