Topic: People learn in different ways. Some people learn by doing things; other people learn by reading about things; others learn by listening to people talk about things. Which of these methods of learning is best for you? Use specific examples to support your choice.
Essay: There are many ways to learn things, such as doing things, reading about things and listening to others. Each way has both advantages and disadvantages, and each people own their ways to learn things best. For me, doing things is the way I like most.
Firstly, doing things is a good way to remember things. For example, when I was a school student, I got stuck in remembering formulas, reactions and theories in the chemistry subject. There were too many things I needed to memorize. However, after doing experiments in laboratories, I was so excited and easy to adhere all formulas, reactions and theories to my brain. Even, up to now, I can still imagine experiments and re-write almost chemical equations.
Secondly, doing things helps me understand things. From my experience, I realize that complicated things become easy things if I do them myself. For example, at the first time I touched computer, I did not know how to use it, how to control mouse, although I had read a lot about computer and listened to many teachers. Afterwards, I usually practiced computer at home and in the short time, I could handle it.
Last but not least, doing things is the way helps me focus on tasks. If I read books or listen to other people, my attention is very low. When I practice something, I feel eager to do it. Moreover, if I am not careful and attentive in tasks, it is easy to damage everything, for example, you are in chemical laboratories.
In conclusion, I prefer doing things to reading and listening when I learn something. Because, real practice and experience is the way I can remember better, understand more profoundly and catch more attention. (288 words)
