Please read the text on the picture and help me. I don't understand the last sentence "Success is that way, just a little further on than splat". What does splat mean here?

"Splat" here is the noice the man made when he fell (or, speaking figuratively, failed at something).
I assume that by saying that "success is a little further on than "splat"" the wise man meant that before the man achieved success he would have to face a lot of failures (splats) on the way to success. Only after having gone beyond all the "splats" (having overcome all the difficulties lying in the way) would he arrive at success.
