Hi,

Please have a look at this sentence:

Quote:
Though not having a printing house of its own, the company claims to have close cooperation with a printing company and that they could ensure the best quality of printing.

Is the sentence above correct? I mean, the bold parts are not parallel, so is that considered a grammar mistake?

Thank you very much.

Hi,

You have a point there. You really need another infinitive construction based on 'claims', - and to be able to ensure the best quality of printing.

It's a poorly phrased sentence. It would be better written:

Though not having a printing house of its own, the company claims to have close cooperation with a printing company which means they can still ensure the best quality of printing.

Secomd thoughts: Though not having a printing house of its own, the company claims to have close cooperation with a printing company thus enabling them to ensure the best quality of printing.
