I've noticed people use the verb "figure" as kind of something between "realize" and "think".

I heard something like:

-Why didn't you save me a seat?
-Well I figured you may sit in other place...

Is it correct? Could someone give me another example, please.

Yep you're spot on, the informal meaning of "to figure" is "to consider, believe".
Ex: I never figured that this would happen.
