Are sentences 1 and 2 correct with the given meanings:

1-People kept on talking about this for months and it was so that I heard about it.
People kept on talking about this for months and it was in this manner/because of this that I heard about it.

2-People kept flooding into the sqaure and at the end it was so that there was no room to move.
People kept coming into the sqaure and at the end things were in such way that there was no room to move.
