1-The door was fully open and it was so that John could see inside the room.

Can't this sentence have two meanings:
1a-The door was fully open and it was fully open because John was intended to see inside the room.

1b-The door was fully open and that is why John could see inside the room.

I think if "1b" is the intended meaning, "so" would be pronounced with emphasis.
