I would like to know the meaning of "feel bad"
I wonder why the tortoise felt bad.

Once the hare was bragging about his speed and he made fun of the tortoise, who was slow.
The tortoise felt bad and challenged the hare for a race. The hare agreed for the race.

Feel bad = Experience regret, sadness, embarrassment, or a similar unpleasant emotion.
