Setting priorities Sun Oct 17, 2004 18:42 pm  Setting priorities

Hi Tanya,

It's a question of setting priorities, we have not stopped the lessons but just put them on hold.
Maybe, one of the English teachers reading this message wants to take over this section and become a Moderator.

In the meantime we are concentrating on developing more materials for English exams such as the TOEIC or TOEFL.

Hi, Torsten Exclamation

I am not an English teacher Smile , but I think I could manage this task - at least I would like to try.

What exactly would I have to do Question Would it be ok, if I posted a lesson once a week Question

I like your project and would like to join it.

English for beginners - new materials Sun Nov 07, 2004 16:00 pm  English for beginners - new materials

Hi Sunny,

Many thanks for your offer - yes, if you could arrange some information on basic English grammar and post it here on the forum that would be great.
Here is a list you can use as a guidline as what subjects you should cover in your sessions

- personal profile (several parts)
- frequently used verbs
- simple present (negative statements, open questions, closed questions)
- the question words
- adverbs of frequncy
- numbers from 0 to 100 (how to write the words, how ask for prices)
- the time
- family members and their relationships (brother, sister, parents, mother of law etc.)
- alphabet (commonly used abbreviations that help memorize pronunciation of the letters such as CIA, FBI, BBC, G.I., IBM, E.T. etc.)
- the weekdays
- the months,
- the four seaons
- office equipment (furniture such as desk, file cabinet, chair etc., gadgets and devices such as computer, printer, scanner photocopier etc., other things such as hole-puncher, stapler, ring-binder etc.)
- types of public transport (bus, train, tram etc.)

Of course you can change the order of the subjects and add your own topics. We are always here to assist you. Thanks in advance.
Torsten

Hi, Lena!

I think that I will try to cover most of the aspects Torsten suggested (see above).
If you have any proposals, you can certainly post them on the forum.
