Hi again.
I have another question with regard to the use of the preposition:

Santos: Thanks. By the way, has The Persian Adventure come into berth yet?
Staff: Well, she was supposed to be here at 12 o'clock, so I suppose he has.

I believe that one can come into someting that has volume, someting 3-dimentional, or at least 2-dimentional :) For example, into a room. But how can one come into a berth? "Berth" is a syonym to "quay" or "wharf". I've heard "to place the vessel alongside berth" but never "to come into berth". What do you think?

"come into berth" is a set form of words (cf. "come into port", "come into town").

"into" has a wide range of more figurative meanings beyond literally becoming physically surrounded on all sides.
