Topic:
Increasing the price of petrol is the best way to solve growing traffic and pollution problems.
To what extend do you agree or disagree?
What other measures do you think might be effective?
Nowadays air pollution and a lot of traffic problems are the very controversial issues that everyone wants to prevent. There are those who claim that rising the petrol price is the most effective solution to solve the difficulties. However, I strongly disagree with this idea and suggest some other ways to fix the problems.
From my point of view, increasing the petrol price is not the best way, and even not a good way to solve traffic troubles and solution as well. Despite claims that putting the cost of petrol up can limit the number of people using means of transport, it is a fact that pollution and traffic problems such as traffic jams are not totally related to financial matter. For instance, in Vietnam, although there has been a significant rise in the petrol price, people do not give up their motorbikes because they are the most convenient vehicle for citizens here. Therefore, traffic jams still happen everyday in rush hours. Another reason is that the government has to face the disapprovement of too high petrol cost because majority of people have really low incomes. That is why they cannot stand paying much money for transportation. Consequently, citizens will react and cause some other serious troubles.
There is no doubt that there are several more efficient measures for these matters. Using public transportation is one of the best ideas because it is not only safer, but people also save their money instead of buying petrol for their motorbikes everyweek. As a result, the amount of vehicles will decline so this helps to solve the problems a lot. Industrilizing countryside could be a good solution. Rural people do not have to migrate to city for finding jobs. Therefore, city overcrowding, which mainly cause difficulties of traffic and pollution, will be reduced remarkably.
To conclude, in my opinion, rising petrol cost is definitely not a necessary solution for traffic and environmental matters because it is not really the main cause. Instead of that, public transportations and industrialization are the 2 more effective measures.

Hi Edward,
Aside from few typos, it's hard for me to criticize (criticise) your essay. Below are my opinions for your reference. 1. disapprovement --> disapproval 2. majority of people --> the majority of people 3. everyweek --> every week 4. Industrilizing --> Industrializing 5. the 2 more --> the two more 6. migrate --> move I'm not sure if it is OK to say people 'migrate' to a city. So I prefer 'move'.
