TOPIC: People attend college or university for many different reasons (for example, new experiences, career preparation, increased knowledge). Why do you think people attend college or university? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

College or university is a place where young minds find themselves where they learn in depth about the subject they are interested in. The main reason people attend college or university is to make a better future for themselves. In High School everyone gets the basic idea about a subject. It is in college where true depths of knowledge begin.

To have a good career one has to master the depths of knowledge of the field he/she is in. The employers always look for higher degrees. For example, a student with a master degree will have a better chance to get a job than a student with a bachelor degree.

A college degree also opens up different opportunities. One can have a choice between staying in academic field as a teacher and going into industry.

The other thing about college is it prepares students to become professionals. College is an experience that no one can forget. It makes a student more prepare for the greater problems in life. It even creates personality for several students.
With a lower degree after a time someone can get stuck in a dead end job with no opportunity for growth. Higher education prevents that. With a higher degree the opportunity of growth in a certain field also increases.

To conclude it can be said that the main reason people attend college is to have a better future. That includes good career, different opportunity and the opportunity for growth in his/her field. A college degree provides all these and in addition it also transforms a boy/girl to a man/woman.
