i just heard on tv.

" my father taught me that an actress resource base must be life itself"

can anyone tell me what it means?

i think it refers that an actress to be apreciated she must "get into the characters skin" and that a very large life experience can help you be a good actor/actress....because you can "live" the drama that the character you give life to lives.......
this is my opinion i don't think if it's good but i wish it can solve your problem Wink

It should say, "an actress's resource base should be life itself." "Actress" has to be possessive here.

"Resource base" means something like source of information or experience here. The sentence means that the actress has to use knowledge of real life in order to play a part well.

I agree. I think it means that an actress has to go back or think back of her experiences in order to be able to portray the roles given to her better.
