"Imagine"

Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...

Imagine there's no countries,
It isnt hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...

You may say Im a dreamer,
but Im not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one.

(Imagine all the people sharing all the world)

Imagine no possessions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer,
but I'm not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one.

>>> One of the lyrics most people love. Me too.

regards.

Hi Mr. Kyaw Min Lwin -- Is there a purpose to posting the lyrics of so many different songs on the forum?

Not really, I've just shown the art I love. Since there are a lot ugly things than beautiful things today. You know I'm kinda an escapist. And I'm always finding a thing to escape , everyday. LOL.
But, if it is disturbing to the forum please let me know. I won't mind to stop it.

kind regards.

Mr. Kyaw, I can only speak for myself and yes, I have to admit it annoys me a bit when I open several topics only to find the lyrics of some song; but as far as I've noticed nobody else has complained so it might be just me -- I tend to be much too easily annoyed! :D

If I were you I would start a new thread dedicated to sharing songs -- this might even give us something to chat about sometimes. Of course, you are free to do whatever you like, I am certainly not here to order anyone around! :D

Dear Cristina,

Thank you for your frank comment. I don't mind a frank comment with good attitude. I was thinking to open a new thread as you said. But I don't know if it's appropriate. So I put some lyrics and poems occasionally. On the other hand, lyrics and poems can encourage learning languages I presume. Anyhow, you've got the point and I can't make someone annoy as well. That's not my style. So I'll see what I should do. Vielen Dank.

Kind regards.

Mr. Kyaw, I see nothing inappropriate about having a thread where people would share songs they like. I've just noticed Xiaomuou has recently started such a thread: Share Your Favorite Songs

Otherwise, I think it would be nice if people at least mentioned in the topic's title that it is about a song. But... I repeat: do as you wish. :-)

Cristina,

I did create a topic for sharing songs but it seems everyone wants to create their own threads for it. Even Torsten always makes a new thread for a new song. I will stick to sharing music in the thread I created personally but I fear you might have to grit your teeth and bear the variety of musical posts in this section. ;)

Take care!
Megan

Megan, If I'm not mistaken, Torsten does mention it in the title when one of his posts is about a song.
Anyway, that's some good advice you've just offered, thanks. -- I think I'll do that! ;-)

Cristina,

Yes, I believe you are correct that Torsten does at least mention in the title. So you can easily avoid those at least. hehe

Take care!
Megan

Kyaw, you're quoting one of the propaganda songs that helped make the genocides in Cambodia and Laos possible.

Dear Jamie K,
Is it really? I honestly don't know about that. How come such a beautiful song was used to help make the genocide. Unimaginable.
Oh those horrible men.

kind regards.

And Jamie, I'm not a politician or an activist of any group. Since I don't believe them. I'm just a simple guy with a soft heart.

It was used to propagandize the American public into pressuring the government into pulling out of Southeast Asia and withdrawing support for the non-communist governments there. Once the pressure was off, the Khmer Rouge overran Cambodia and slaughtered a third of the population. And the victorious Pathet Lao dropped Soviet-supplied biological toxins in an attempt to exterminate the Hmong. Of course, this song was just one of many bits of propaganda that formed a continuous hum.

And as the American radicals from the 1960s now admit in their old age, they weren't really trying to end the war; they were just trying to help the communists win.

Dear Jamie,

Thank you. We have things in common. I even think Laden Bin is a AIC mole. And he is now in Gelanly. Do you know what I mean? TWO incident was just a set up of .. to suck the oil up and Laden Bin aided it. Sacrifice, sacrifice, sacrifice. This is cliche methods all governments, evil businessmen and their minions are still doing to cling to the money and power. Like in Mayan Days..... Oh dear. We didn't improve at all?
kind regards.
