Can an independent essay be subjective ????

1 ) can i write an essay only with my experiences.

i am asking this doubt because NOVA materials advises us to be subjective always , but in this forum i am finding only objective ones :(

is there any negative markings for essays(both independent and integrated) that crosses the word limit ???
