Is this sentence correct?
Can we re-write better than this?

It should be "stung" (unless "stang" is deliberately used to give the impression of old-fashioned, dialect or uneducated speech).

Otherwise it's a good sentence. There is no reason to want to rewrite it. (If you wrote it yourself, then good job!)
