Hello everybody,

I was taking a walk with a friend and while freezing our behinds off, we were talking about Australia. That's when I arrived at the conclusion that the sun must love Australia very much since it goes on vacation there every winter and stays there for months!

Happy silly Friday,

Claudia

I put my foot in my mouth -- again. I shared this thought with my dear friend in Australia, and she told me that last weekend in Margaret River, which is south of Perth, a controlled burn which the fire department conducts every year to burn all of the undergrowth before summer (to keep the residents safe from fires during their very long very hot summers) got out of control and now forty houses have burnt to the ground! The news says thirty, but my friend, who lives in Perth and has family in Margaret River, says the count was up to forty. I suppose, the firemen responsible are in big trouble now! They contained the bushfire, but they are afraid that the heat and wind will reignite more fires. Even though this disaster was caused by human error, perhaps the sun loves Australia a bit too much . . .

Dear Claudia! I watched your video and I like it very much. I could see these recurring fires in Australia many times and I think that is sth. to what nobody can be used to it. But the more interesting for me was the crocodilian culture . I had no idea that people deal with it, especially that crocodile skin is on the index.

I'm greeting You:) Alicja
