The quoatation from the book in [ ]:
[ In the following examples (R) is placed after the example when the there construction is replaceable by noun/pronoun + verb:
There have been several breaks-ins this year.
There will be plenty of room for everyone.
There were hundreds of people on the beach. (R)]

1. Please tell me which/where is there the example when the there construction is replaceable by noun/pronoun + verb?
2.Shouldn't it be: In the following examples (R) is placed after the examples..etc?

1. I assume it means

"There were hundreds of people on the beach" can be written as "Hundreds of people were on the beach".

"There have been several breaks-ins this year" cannot be written as "Several breaks-ins have been this year".

"There will be plenty of room for everyone" cannot be written as "Plenty of room will be for everyone".

2. "when the there construction is replaceable by noun/pronoun + verb" applies to each example, considered individually. Therefore "example" is OK.
