When it's talking about something concrete, it means that something becomes unfastened or untied. You can say a woman's hairdo came undone, meaning it started to fall. You can also say that a man's tie has come undone, or a child's shoe laces.
You could say symbolically that a project has come undone. That means that it started to fall apart and couldn't be continued.
When it's talking about a person's emotions, it means that the person has lost his composure, is very upset and may even be in a panic. |
