Hi,
I have come across an idiom "a frog in the well". I can guess the meaning of the expression but could you please tell me about the situations I can use this phrase.
Thank you in advance.

I suppose it refers to the fable of the frog in the well who eventually emerged (?) by repeatedly leaping two steps up and then falling one step back, but frankly I find 'a frog in a well' too terse an idiomatic abbreviation of that fable. I can't think of any particular situations for such a specific idiom. If you google the phrase, you may find some examples. If you have any question about them, you can post those examples here.
