According to my grammar book the Gerund is formed by adding the -ing to all verbs and also (quote) 'That -ing can now go on almost any verb'

Now my question is : Is there any verb which can't have the gerund form?

Modal verbs like "can", "must" etc. do not have -ing forms. I can't think of any other examples.
