Hi everyone, can you please tell me the difference between 'to have inadequate understanding of sth.' and 'to have an inadequate understanding of sth'?

There is no difference in meaning. I would guess the version with "an" is more usual.

Hi Torsten,
I think that: 'to have inadequate understanding of sth' means - to have insufficient thought or point of view of sth.
But 'to have an inadequate understanding of sth' means - to have insufficient agreement of sth.
As I know, the word understanding if uses with a/an has 'agreement' or 'realization of another's views or feelings towards oneself ' meanings.

Thanks for your attention.
Take care
Ruzihon
