Hi Gelly,

The important word in the test question is overdo meaning do more than you should or do too much. Too much suggests in excess of what is normal as in:

There is too much sugar in this tea as it tastes too sweet.

A lot simply means a large quantity as in:

I like a lot of sugar in my tea because I like it to taste very sweet.
