Can one say:

1-I always want to know if a sentence is ambiguous.
2-I always want to know if a sentence I read is ambiguous.
3-I always want to be able to tell if a sentence is ambiguous.

My intended meaning is:
Whenever I encounter a sentence that is ambiguous, I want to know it. I am therefore not speaking of a single sentence.

I am not sure "1" works. In "1", "a sentence" is supposed to refer to any sentence I encounter. I generally want to be able to tell if sentences are ambiguous.

PS. I posted this by mistake in the wrong forum. I want to delete it but there is no delete "button". I see delete buttons on my posts in the other forum though!
