Difference between hate and hatred #1 (permalink) Sat May 13, 2006 13:26 pm   Difference between hate and hatred

Hello!
Are you alright?

Is there any difference between Hate and Hatred?
If so, can you tell me when it?s used each of them?

I was looking them up in the dictionary and the meaning was the same.

Thanks in advance!

.
I cannot think of much difference offhand, Jesus. Hatred is more formal than hate. Also, hate is used as an attributive (e.g. hate mail), where hatred is not.
