Nothing wrong in wrting (to start a letter Dear .....). Here we are learning English
through coach/teacher/Guru, we should give respect to Sir Torsten in that aspect,
otherwise we cannot distinguish himself from us. In India we will respect to elderly
people, teacher, coach etc. It is only my suggestion not compulsion for anyone to
follow what I said.

Thank you

Hi Shanthi,
I completely understand what you mean. In Chinese, we do that as well. We are used to calling teachers their surnames with "teacher" at the end.
But here I am asking if it is also true in terms of English. In other words, will a English teacher fell not being respected if their students start the letter with "Dear <name>" or "Dear Mr./Ms. <surname>"?

No, they won't feel disrespected.

Hello everybody,

I agree with Shanthisethurama, regarding the word: Dear at the beginning of the page. It's a custom here in the the USA.
But if Mr. Torsten or Alan or any other teacher says that we should not use it, then I will respect the way they teach, and I will follow their recomendation about the English language.

Regards to everybody,

Rosario L.
P.D. Thank you to all the students that have send me a Happy New Year!
Honesty I want to keep on taking tests to improve my English.

Hi Torsten,

I haven't receive any other new lesson. The last one was lesson No.28
As you can see I only have been looking what to take. Some of the test I have chosen the words were not familiar to me, so I keept on looking for more test, but if there is a Lesson No. 29 I'm ready to do it.
It's hard for me to listen from my speaker, it's not clear to understand, and I have no ear plugs, that could help me. Anyway I will wait until I hear from you, but I can't find where to click in order not to received "Happy New Year" I'll try it and look again.

Have a nice day,

Rosario

TO ALL THE STUDENT:

Thank you very much for being so kind in sending me good wishes for the coming year 2012.
Please it's not necessary to keep on sending to: Rosario L. It doesn't mean that I'm a bad person. I do appreciate
very much and yet I want to keep on taking more advanced tests. I hope you all do understand me.

Thank you all,

Rosario L.

As I have got some personel work, I will not be in station for two days, this is
