Hello Alan, First I translated wrongly : "on the back burner" . Wheras this expression exists in Hungarian we say for example : put yourself on low flame.
Put sth on the back burner = means to held or suspend from doing sth temporaly. We can say with the verb: be and put. For example: The building project is on the back burner for now. This matter was on the back burner for a long time. The president has put this issues on the back burner. I can't allow myself to put my English learning on the back burner, in my age, can I ?
I am sorry, this was the first of your writings what I misunderstood. I can blame only myself for it.
