Are these sentences correct:

1-When you feel that your child is depressed, the more you have to be affectionate towards him or her.

2-If a client is unhappy with our services, the more you have to be polite to them.

No. they are odd or downright wrong. The structure is a parallel one: the more...the more: 'The unhappier a client is, the more polite you need to be.'
