I want to know the exact terminology for this feeling. Is it just consideration?? E.g Just because of the consideration I have for him, I did not mention the money i had loaned him.(Am I correct in this sentence?) |
Hi Tom
If you use the word "consideration", I don't think this is exactly the meaning you want. However, to answer your question, I'd use "consideration" this way: "Out of consideration for our friendship, I did not mention the money I had loaned him."
Here's another idea (I think the meaning is closer to what you want): "He's one of my closest friends and I just couldn't bring myself to mention the money I had loaned him." ('bring myself to do' = 'convince myself to do' or 'manage to do')
Pamela's idea is also good: "It was too embarrassing to ask him for the money."
