Your expression too many times by one (with which I am not familiar) amounts to saying one time/once too often or that things have gone too far.

A more usual idiom is: one time too many. It also indicates that someone has gone over the limit or that something has happened too often:

We've messed with our planet one time too many, and now she's out for revenge.

I prefer to say what Popeye does: "I've had enough! And enough is too much!"

We call it "the lost drop in the glass"
Describing, isn't it?

Hi!

In Germany one would say: That is the drop that makes the mineral spring welling over!

Similar expressions are used:

- in French: This is the last drop that spills the vase

- and in Spanish: This is the drop that fills/spills the glass.

Spencer, imagine trying to find a lost drop in a full glass!! :) Unless it's a drop of oil in a glass of water, perhaps.

Hi Conchita,
It's easy to find the lost drop.
It's on the top of them. :)
You might remember that old movie, The Gods went crazy, or something like that.
A Bushman hunter was turning the whole desert upside down for that one vegetable, grabbed it, ripped it out,
worked on it with his special tools for a while, and finally drunk up a whole drop of water, that last him for the time he's got so lucky again.
I think he has a totally different phrase for describe the same situation we were talking about.
More likely uses Jamies' with the camel.
