Intangible Cultural Heritage - Question?! #1 (permalink) Mon Jan 16, 2012 20:40 pm   Intangible Cultural Heritage - Question?!

Dear all!

I am kindly asking you for your help regarding a cultural issue that has to do with intangible cultural heritage.
As far as I am from the Balkan`s region, for different kind of amateur` s cultural artistic activities such are folklore dances, amateur choir singing, amateurs painting, visual arts, different scenic performances, amateur theater, folklore literacy and other that are part of the traditional arts and culture are so-called cultural artistic amateurism.
But, I am in conflict with myself: Which word best fits in English for word AMATEURISM i.e. Cultural Amateurism?
I have found several different word regarding this issue, but still I`m not sure about the following words: traditional knowledge or art; voluntary art; folk art and culture; visionary art and culture; naive art; outsider art; amateur activity or informal activity, and other.

So, I really need your suggestion which word best fits in English for word CULTURAL AMATEURISM, as I mentioned, cultural activities that are not professional (paid artists), but are amateurs (they are doing their best in art and culture, but they do it in their leisure time without any money!!!)

Thank you in advance for your valuable suggestions and your time!
Balkan`s culture and artistic creativity....singing a song, and dancing happily...

I would prefer to chant noun - noun ( double nouns ) structure since it's got more impact on me. As you know first noun works as an adjective here. I'd take culture as main noun.

1. Amateur Culture
2. Amateurism Culture

Kind regards.
