Well, I've just come back from a relatively quiet birthday dinner at a local restaurant (with my family and a friend). Afterwards, all of the waitresses formed a little procession and sang their way through the restaurant over to our table. I think the name of the birthday "cake" they brought was something like "Chocolate Decadence" -- a small but unbelievably rich piece of cake and a scoop of vanilla ice cream with one (tactful) candle in it. Eating that single piece of cake required the efforts of 5 people. It was that rich. But it was yummy.

I also spent some of the day today making last minute preparations for another sort of celebration tomorrow: the arrival of my household goods. Hooray! They're being delivered at 9 a.m. :D
