Can I use gather in following way:

I succed to gather around me many collaborators.

"succeed to gather" doesn't seem right. You could say "I succeeded in gathering around me many collaborators." The present tense, "I succeed in gathering...", is grammatically correct but seems less likely in practice. If you really do want a present-tense sense then you might say "I am succeeding in gathering..." or "I am managing to gather...".
