011. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Universities should give the same amount of money to their students’ sports activities as they give to their university libraries.

Whether universities should give the same amount of money to their students’ sports activities as they give to their university libraries or not is an issue that gives a rise to endless controversy. Some people advocate that idea; however, others oppose it. As far as I am concerned, university should give the similar amount of money to sport activities because they help students not only entertain but improve themselves as well.

The first reason that supports my belief is that sport activities help students develop themselves. To begin with, playing sports is such a good chance for students to strengthen their health. As a result, their studying will be improved because good health enables students to remember better and work more effectively. Besides, when playing sports, students can enhance many skills; for instance, students who play soccer with friends tend to have better teamwork skill as they have to cooperate with their partners in order to win their games. What is more, sport activities make students more mature, for they have to compete with other students; thus, they become more confident when facing a problem. Accordingly, giving the same amount of money to students’ sport activities is necessary.

The other reason for my belief is that sport activities help students relax. They are relaxing as they reduce stress that students have towards their studying, for their studying time is now decreased. For example, I always feel stress since I am given a lot of assignments at school, but after playing sports with friends, I find my mind refreshed. In addition, when having sport activities, students can communicate and interact more with their friends, which is a good way to ease up.

In short, considering all the benefits that I mentioned above, I strongly believe that sport activities should be funded with the same amount of money that is used for university libraries.
